Filming and Professional Photography at Dungeness

A CODE OF CONDUCT

The shingle area of Dungeness is an unique wildlife habitat and is of international importance. It is also very fragile and easily damaged.

Dungeness is a National Nature Reserve and this Code of Conduct must be followed at all times when filming.

Because Dungeness is a Site of Special Scientific Interest you could be liable to a fine of up to £20,000 if, without reasonable excuse, you intentionally or recklessly destroy, damage or disturb the flora, fauna or shingle ridges.

What to do when planning filming
Dungeness is a private estate and you must obtain permission of the Trustees before filming or photographing at Dungeness. You must contact Dungeness Estate Maurice Ede, Dungeness Estate, Suite 1, Park Farm Barn, Brabourne, KENT. TN25 6RG. Tel./Fax 01303 812 811.

After you have obtained permission, but before you start filming, you must contact the Romney Marsh Countryside Project to agree the details of filming and check it does not damage the National Nature Reserve. See address below.

What you must do whilst filming
Dungeness is an area where people live and work, please respect their privacy. Do not disrupt the daily routines of the residents and local fishermen. Please keep noise to a low level.

All vehicles must remain on the roads and must not drive across or onto the shingle under any circumstances. Please do not park in tracks to the entrances of houses.

When you have finished filming
Take all your rubbish away and dispose of it correctly.
