Leaflets, Panels and Publications

Twice a year the RMCP produce its Countryside Activities leaflet. Each leaflet covers a six month period; April-September and October-March. This leaflet details all of the RMCP’s guided walks, bike rides, volunteer tasks and children's events. The leaflet also includes articles on other aspects of the Project’s work and details of events led by other organisations on the Romney Marsh including those by the RSPB, Rye Bay Countryside Project, Hythe Civic Society, Whole Hog Arts Company and Friends of Lydd. For the full content of the Countryside Activities leaflet please look at the ‘Current Activities’ page.
Look out for the Countryside Activities leaflet in Tourist Information Centres, libraries, pubs and restaurants across the Romney Marsh area.

Other publications including the ‘Romney Marsh Meanders’ a pack of five self guided cycle trails produced in 1999 and the award winning ‘Magic of the Marsh’ a pack of nine self guided walks. The Magic of the Marsh was originally printed in 1997 with a reprint in 2000 due to popular demand.

A series of five panels were produced for the Dungeness Nature Trail. Additional panels have been positioned in other areas around NNR informing people of the sensitive nature of the shingle habitat and its wildlife importance. Supporting information has also been provided to the local community through the distribution of a National Nature Reserve leaflet.

A series of nine panels have been produced along the coast from St Marys Bay to Lade.

The panels give visitors and residents information about local history and wildlife along the coastline. The project was funded by the South East England Development Area as part of the Shingle Regeneration Budget.

Newchurch Panel. A wildlife panel has been produced and installed at an area in front of the church in winter 2002. This is to complement work the RMCP has carried out in conjunction with Newchurch Parish Council and the local community during 2001. Sponsorship came from Community Action in South Kent (CASK) partnership.
